Initially the main crime was illegal grazing of cows and stealing firewood.
Stealing fire wood was also common.
Since then all the usual crimes have occurred on the Domain. Murder, physical assault, sexual assault.
Escaped thieves have often initially hid on the Domain.
Another common theme is prisoners escaping from work gangs on the Domain.
Recently cars stolen; burnt and dumped on the Domain.

1912 Two prisoners Parsons and Johnson ran away from their prison work gang.
1921 Thomas Rooke was charged with taking wood from train engines.
His defence was a knock on his head in his youth caused him to have fits.
The Police Magistrate E.W. Turner said: “You may take fits but you must not take firewood.”
1852: In England Martin Cash was sentenced to be hung. At the last minute he was sentence to transportation for life. In 1854 he was given a ticket of leave.
He worked as overseer at RTBG.
He wrote a best selling book called “Adventures of Martin Cash”
1862 Ashcroft stole a wheelbarrow from Elizabeth Winter of Hobart. He sold it for nine shillings.
1863 Ashcroft absconded from a gang working on the Domain returned to Elizabeth Winter’s house and stole another wheelbarrow.
1862: Ex-convict Marin McDonald lived in a hollow tree on the Domain. He stole a mantlepiece and window blinds from a vacant house in order to furnish his tree. He was guilty of theft and given two years hard labour.
